Chase Kimball to Manage Quantum Efforts

Chase Kimball has joined Roadrunner Venture Studios as Program Manager for Quantum. In this role, Chase will align diverse stakeholders toward coordination action in New Mexico and across the broader quantum ecosystem.
Chase has worked in civic technology for 15 years, most recently as Chief Technology Officer of a refugee resettlement non-profit, and before that in senior product management and operations leadership roles at a national defense-focused tech startup.
"We’re really lucky to have Chase on board to drive this initiative," said Shem Hanafi, Head of Talent at Roadrunner Venture Studios. "rooted in New Mexico and backed by a track record of tackling complex challenges at the highest levels, Chase will ensure our quantum hub isn’t just built, but built to last — bringing partners together around a shared vision for the future."
In prior roles, Chase helped the U.S. Department of Defense fly satellites at greater scale; helped Health and Human Services reunite migrant children with their families efficiently; assisted the Libyan Election Commission with the launch of its voter registration; and helped the White House manage constituent relationships more seamlessly. In 2016, Chase and his team were awarded a Meritorious Unit Citation by the Central Intelligence Agency for their work streamlining the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.
Originally from Chicago, with a degree in economics from Carleton College (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude), Chase lived in Washington DC for many years before moving to Albuquerque in 2025.
Chase loves life in Albuquerque, where he enjoys learning to fly hot air balloons and watching his kids bike to their grandparents’ house, all by themselves.
